Koda
has never really had any major accidents before (other than a broken paw when he was a pup). He’s mainly a house dog and a big puppy still, despite his age and size - he’s four. He’s kinda clumsy and trips running up the stairs up to the balcony all of the time, so it’s a normal thing. Today though, when I called him, instead of just tripping, he also tumbled down the stairs, yelping. I’ve never heard him sound that way before and knew he was REALLY hurt. Ran out to look at him and he was staring up at me from the bottom of the staircase trying to move so he could come up, but his hind legs weren’t moving. I’ve never been more afraid of anything in my life. I felt so helpless. My poor baby looked miserable and he was crawling around in circles, and I didn’t know what was wrong with him or how I could help. It was so bad that he couldn’t even sit. I thought he’d broken both hind legs, and despite his pain, he still tried to get up and move, so Grace and I carried him upstairs and put him on his bed. My dad rushed home and took him to the vet with my mom. Thankfully, the doctor said it didn’t look serious enough to be a broken bone. Koda might have just pulled a muscle or he may just have a contusion since he banged up his hip pretty bad, apparently. So he’s been prescribed pain meds and muscle relaxer. Hopefully he’s better within three days, or it may be a broken bone. On meds… Getting old there Koda Bear.
